Global Entrepreneurship Program Indonesia (GEPI) was formally established in January 2011 by a group of 13 prominent business leaders in Indonesia. GEPI is also part of a wider global initiative called the Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP), which grew from an initiative of President Obama and former Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton. GEPI's vision is to improve Indonesia's economic development and social welfare through entrepreneurship. GEPI plans to achieve this vision by identifying, training and inspiring, connecting and sustaining, guiding to capital, advocating, and celebrating success.

GEPI has two main programs, Ciputra GEPI Incubator (CGI) and Angel Investment Network Indonesia (ANGIN). CGI, through its incubation program, provides a 6-month mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs. At the end of the 6th month, startups are given the chance to pitch their ideas to investors. CGI also encourages engagement in the startup ecosystem by providing a coworking space and holding entrepreneurial events for startup enthusiasts. ANGIN focuses on growing early-stage startups through funding and mentoring. ANGIN connects early-stage startups with Indonesia's successful business leaders who are integrated in ANGIN's angel investor network.
